Owner Sandra Rivers says it's been a struggle since Tropical Storm Ida
There aren’t many places where those who are deaf or hard of hearing can go to socialize and feel accepted. That is, until Deaf’s Delight Cafe came to Newark. Sandra Rivers said she was inspired to open the coffee shop as a tribute to her parents, both of whom were deaf. "We are the only one in the tri-state area," Rivers said. But now the cafe is at risk of closure.
