APPRAISER: It's made by a company named Loetz in Central Europe.
This is silver overlay; I think the pattern name is the Medici pattern.
We see a lot of Loetz on the show, and mu-much of it with silver overlay, but it's interesting to see-- much of that we see, of course, is Art Nouveau form silverwork.
This is much more Deco artwork, or De-Deco form.
So it really is a beautiful vase, beautiful color.
This, uh pinched shoulder area here makes it even more valuable.
GUEST: Wow.
APPRAISER: And the silverwork is very good.
You said you had cleaned up the silver the other night?
GUEST: Yeah, it was brown!
APPRAISER: Yeah.
GUEST: We didn't realize it was silver, we thought it was like bronze or something.
APPRAISER: Well, pretty much, I think silverwork was always meant to be polished, to a certain extent, but it looks beautiful now.
Do you have any idea of value?
GUEST: No, 'cause I think...
I don't know if we needed to get it insured, or... APPRAISER: Yeah, I think a good insurance value is about $3,500.
GUEST: Wow.
APPRAISER: Okay?
GUEST: Great, awesome.
APPRAISER: Yeah.
